AM & PM
Zack and I had a lazy morning, I think he was just counting down till we could go see his Grandad and Granny as all he kept asking to do was get in the car. He’d woken early-ish today, which actually worked well as meant we could have an earlier lunch and get in the car for his nap on the way to meet them, that way if he had slightly longer it wouldn’t matter too much. We’d decided to meet roughly half way at Hollingsworth Lake, we arrived a little before them but it gave Zack chance to wake up. We walked through the car park to meet them, Zack was excited to see them and then more so once he knew the dogs (Hugo & Bertie) had come too. They also had a present for us both, a hand made (by Grandads hands) walking stick each. Both had been whittled into shape from a fallen oak tree branch, nicely varnished and finished off with name plaque. We all set of walking around the lake, Zack with his new walking stick. We hadn’t got far before noticing the signs that had been put up asking everyone to walk around in one direction, the opposite way we’d set off in. So we turned around and walk the other way, we quickly realised we seemed to be the only ones doing this as more people where walking towards us than behind us. Zack loved shouting at Grandad for walking to far ahead with the dogs and splashing in the muddy puddles. Part way around we stopped for a rest and got an ice cream from the cafe, the dogs also had a nice drink too. After we’d all finished we carried on walking, the dogs loved going down the little verges and getting in the streams and Zack loved telling them to come back and be a good boy. Zack walked well around the lake, only asking a couple of time to go on my shoulders and even when on them he didn’t last long before getting down. We got back to the car park and back to the cars, giving the dogs a drink while grandad went to get us all one and Zack shared his crisps with Bertie. We arranged to meet next week for a picnic, sad goodbye and we headed home for tea.
